tht seems to be the most common heard word these days...
"why u nvr do homework?"
"recession la 'cher, no money buy pen"

apart from jokes aside...
i bet your parents are asking you to try and be thrifty cos of the recession.
n tht affects your pocket money.i know.

singapore's growth in 2008 was only 1.2% and our GDP is just 11%.
there's going to be a 5.5% unemployment rate this year.
thts about 200000 of singaporeans going out of a job.
compared to the big USA...we're not tht badly hit.
singapore's rich(not RICH but having enough money to save our own asses)
now and USA's BANKRUPT...
its an undeniable truth.
the singapore government now, is only one the few ppls tht can say,
O,its a recession, lets tap into our reserves and dump a few billion into the economy.

but, why the hell is thr a bloody recession...i dun friggin understand.
perhaps its too complex for simple minds like mine to get it.

stores continue to earn money, stocks are still traded and companies dont have to retrench ppl.

to the ppls whose families have ppl u know are retrenched/affected by this recession...i feel sorry for you and you'll shld continue to lead thrifty lives.
but to all the other ppl who are not affected, pls stop thinking tht you will be the next to be fried( unless ur a useless dog who sits in an office on the top floor) and go out to spend the money tht you have rightfully earned.
sales are everywhr and pls do not try to spend all ur money.(i know i said go spend but ya...use ur brains a bit)
